She was born rather small (5lbs) and wouldn’t fit in most conventional carriers. I chose the Moby after extensive research on slings and wraps and chose it because of its durability, versatility, lack of hardware, wash-ability, back-saving configuration, and economical price. It took about 10 minutes to figure out how to tie it correctly, then about a weeks worth of trials to find and perfect our signature hold. After that, I can get the wrap on and off in a matter of seconds. It does get pretty warm in the summer but since I live in the north east, I was able to wear very light clothing and use it most of the summer. My daughter is currently about 20 lbs and we still use it every day. If the ends get dirty, it isn’t that big a deal since the ends don’t normally touch the baby and the wrap is machine washable.
